JESSNER/TCA PEEL POST CARE
What to expect after a peel
Your skin will be red, tight, and swollen for the first 24 hours or so.
Your skin may darken or even develop brown patches during the process.
It can take up to 5-6 days to heal completely and see the full results of the peel.
Taking care of your skin after a peel
Avoid applying makeup the day of treatment, as it is ideal to allow the skin to stabilize and rest overnight.
Stay as cool as possible and avoid aerobic exercises for the first 48 hours.
Avoid the sun completely until your skin is fully healed. Apply sunscreen (SPF 30 or higher) daily, as your skin will become more sensitive to the sun.
Gently cleanse your face with water or a mild cleanser twice a day.
Apply a gentle moisturizer twice a day or anytime your skin feels tight, dry, or itchy.
Avoid hot showers, hot tubs, steam rooms, or saunas.
Do not apply any type of exfoliation products, as this can severely damage or irritate the skin during the entire healing process.
Do not peel, rub, or scratch your skin, as this will cause damage and compromise your results.
Do not apply ice or ice water to the treated area.
